How we make money

Some links on this site are affiliate links and some aren't. If you click one and buy something, the shop pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never decides what we recommend. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This is how we pay for the site and keep the live data and the tools free.

Our live data pages (power cuts, fuel prices, the energy price cap and heating oil) carry no affiliate links at all.

How we choose

• Fit first. We recommend what suits the job. Commission never decides what we pick or the order we list it in. The sizer ranks power stations by fit, then by the smallest that will do.
• Facts from the source. Capacities, outputs and features come from the makers' own UK pages, which we link to. Where we couldn't confirm a figure, we leave it out rather than guess.
• Prices checked by hand, most recently on 3 November 2026. Prices change often, so check the shop before you buy.
• Ranges, not false precision. Runtimes and savings depend on your home, so we show ranges and say what we assumed.
